Do cremations cost more than burials?
In general, cremations cost is significantly less than burials.

What kind of service can I have?
You can arrange a service with your funeral undertaker. There are many options available for the family. 

Do I need a funeral undertaker or can I contact Eden Funeral and Cremation service directly?
You can either contact us directly and we will guide you through the process of working directly with an undertaker in your area.

How long does a cremation typically take?
Once the coffin is received, the cremation takes approximately 3 hours and the Urn with the ashes can be collected or couriered to you the next day. 

Is the coffin cremated with the body?
Yes, we abide by the regulations where a cremation must be done in a special cremation coffin where the body and the coffin will be placed together in the cremator. 

Should the jewellery be removed before a cremation takes place?
This is a personal decision of the family and should be discussed with the cremator. 

Do I need to ensure that all steel, aluminium, metal or electronic devices (due to operations) is removed from my loved ones before they are cremated?
Only electronic devices such as a pacemaker should be removed before a cremation can take place.

How do I know the ashes will be kept safe and is that of my loved one?
The process of cremation only accommodates one coffin at a time. Once all the ashes are removed from the cremator, they are placed in an Urn, labelled and stored individually.

What happens to the ashes afterwards?
You can discuss this either with your appointed undertaker or contact us directly where you can either personally come and collect your Urn or alternatively we can courier the Urn to your designated destination.
